A Dad and his girls. Got home late tonight because of work, so it was "play in a hurry." Tomorrow I'm off to Miami for the IRI Summit.

A comparison...left to right we have Laura, Nicole and Katelyn in their early moments. Laura and Nikki look just like Steph, but Katelyn definitely has a bit more of the Madden side (looks like Grandma Julie's good looks will continue down the gene pool).

Baby's first bath.

Grandma Christie (with help from Grandpa Creon and Aunt Jessica) has been a life saver this week. I tried to take the whole week off to help with the new baby transition, but we had a few projects going on that couldn't wait that long. Our friends have been great too, bringing over meals almost every night. I've been impressed with how the big sisters have reacted too. Laura has been just superb, constantly washing her hands so she can touch Katelyn. Nikki has had a tougher time (being sick doesn't help) but hasn't shown many signs of jealousy...she did drop a container of baby wipes on Katie's head and took some skin off, but I'm sure it was quite accidental. Speaking of Nikki, she is starting to mimic words more and her new favorite phrase is "Oh man" whenever she plays with her toy "Swiper the Fox" of Dora fame or when any minor accident happens.

One week after getting home, Katelyn is getting used to normal life. She had one really bad sleep night this week, but the other days she hasn't been too bad, just getting a hungry a few times a night (note that the "too bad" comment comes from Dad, not Mom...her opinion may differ). ;)

In the beginning...

...Matt caught the blogger wave. Today is as good as any to get it started as I am home on paternity leave with my wife Stephanie and newborn girl Katelyn.

I'm too lazy...I mean busy... to keep a real diary, so it is here that I will keep a travelogue of my life and a record of my oh-so-useful insights on just about anything.
